If you are looking for an exquisite basketball shoe you need to read this Harden vol 2 review. This shoe is perhaps one of the best out there and is a serious contender.

When you need a basketball shoe that works well, supports you while you play, and looks good you’re onto a winner. This is where the Adidas Harden Vol.2 steps in and announces its arrival.

This is a very good shoe but it does come with a few disappointing aspects which is to be expected with any shoe. Take a look below for more information about the Adidas Harden Vol. 2.

Things We Liked

Things We Didn’t Like

Made using heat-pressed TPU coated fibers, these shoes provide a lot of targeted support. Known as ‘ForgedFiber’, the material gives the shoe a lightweight durability.

The lightness of this basketball shoe could be ideal for those who just don’t like heavy shoes. If you want to forget about what’s on your feet while you play the Adidas Harden Vol. 2 is a shoe that’s great to wear.

The additional stitching does look quite impressive and it does tend to increase the strength of those TPU coated fibers. This feature could be ideal for those who often have ripped a forefoot in the past as the Harden Vol. 2 is stronger than many other shoes.

When it comes to the rear of the Harden it has been enveloped by synthetic panels that are nothing short of sturdy. These panels do not feel or look good but they provide quite a bit of support.

If you do not mind that a shoe may not look perfect then this could be the basketball shoe you need. Some people do like the way this shoe looks despite the synthetic panels, each to their own I guess.
When it comes to the subject of longevity and durability the materials that make up this impressive shoe ensure it lasts a long time. This is an important consideration if you’re looking for basketball shoes that last a long time.

If you feel a little downhearted by some of the materials that have been used there’s no doubt that they work well together. This means you end up with a great quality basketball shoe making it ideal for anyone who wants to get a lot of bang for their buck.

Traction is an important consideration when you’re looking for a good pair of basketball shoes. Traction can help keep your shoes firmly on the ground so you can move around with ease.

If it’s important to you to find a shoe that has a lot of traction look for those that make a high pitched squeak as you move across the floor. You may want to test any shoe you try on in a shoe store to see if it does squeak while you move.

Shoes that don’t have a lot of traction could see you slipping on the court. When it comes to the Harden Vol. 2 you may find that its traction isn’t great which is a bit of a let down.

Harden’s Vol. 1 basketball shoe has a lot of traction but the re-design just doesn’t seem to be quite as good. Even though the Vol. 2 has a rubber compound that’s almost identical to the Vol 1. shoe it just doesn’t have the same standard.

The good news about this basketball shoe’s traction is that when it does work it works well. However, the traction just does not appear to be there most of the time.
An issue that seems to affect traction is the fact that you will get a lot of dirt caught in the sold of the shoe. This is likely to be the case even if you play on a court that’s very clean.

When it comes to the fit of the Adidas Harden Vol. 2 they certainly seem to be true to size. While many other basketball shoes are bigger or smaller than they should be, this is where the Harden’s win.

Those who have wide feet may want to try these shoes on in store before buying them online, just to make sure you get the correct size. Remember to wear the same sports socks you’d wear while you were playing basketball.

Those how have high arches may also find these shoes a bit of a challenge as they may not always fit exactly as you’d hoped.

The shoe’s synthetic layer and the mesh meet up and stop the shoe from stretching too much. This could be ideal if you find the shoes are a little too big or you want a very secure fit.

Lockdown which determines whether your foot is kept on the bottom of the shoe works pretty well. When compared to the Harden Vol. 1 it is slightly better which is never a bad thing and means your foot won’t jump about inside the shoe too much.

The shoe’s rear panel is very strong and it makes its way around the mid-foot very nicely. The band where the synthetic layer and the mesh meet up keeps your forefoot nicely secure and quite snug.

The inside of the basketball shoe feels nice and keeps your ankle and heel safe and secure but it’s certainly not tight in there. Easy to get this shoe off and back on again it will mold itself to the shape and size of your ankle/heel.

When it comes to support the Adidas Harden Vol. 2 is surprisingly supportive. This is despite the fact that the heel seems to keep you high off the floor.

The Boost platform is pretty wide and your foot sits in it so you may not feel that high off the ground after all. Located by the heel is a strong internal heel counter that adds support and makes the shoe feel very comfortable even in the middle of a game.

If it’s important for you to find a basketball shoe that has a lot of support then you need to opt for the Harden Vol. 2. This is a shoe that offers a high level of support throughout the game which means you can continue to play regardless of what is happening.

In addition to the heel counter, the Adidas Harden Vol. 2 also comes with a piece of rubber on the out-sole. This outer piece of rubber adds even more to the shoe’s supportive feature.

The forefoot is wrapped in TPU which ensures the Boost’s platform is even more stable. This helps basketball players as they make cuts in different directions.

If you need a shoe that will help you make those cuts you need to seriously consider the Harden Vol.2 as it’s quite impressive in this respect.

The torsional plate, which is an arch designed to allow the rear part of the foot and the forefoot to move well works very nicely. If you’re looking for a basketball shoe that has a lot of support the Harden Vol. 2 will not let you down.

When it comes to the Boost pellets that were found in the previous version of these basketball shoes they are thicker in the Vol. 2. While you may think you’re going to feel quite high of the ground you don’t.

There are more Boost pellets in the Harden Vol. 2 which seems to make the shoes a lot firmer. This could be ideal for anyone who likes firm shoes and admittedly, it seems to make your shoes even more supportive if that were possible.

Again, if you’re looking for a supportive basketball shoe, the Vol. 2 seems to offer you everything you need. This could help you concentrate on the game a little more rather than worrying about your ankles and heels.

While you may not like the thought of having a bouncy basketball shoe you won’t have to worry about this with the Harden Vol. 2. You will have a court-like feel and a lot of impact protection with this shoe which is never a bad thing.

If you tend to really go for it while you’re playing basketball you’ll appreciate good impact protection. You can jump and run as much as you please without worrying about hurting any part of your foot at all.

If you have been injured in the past or you’re concerned about sustaining impact injuries while you play these shoes could help dampen down those fears.

When I consider the overall quality of the Adidas Harden Vol. 2 it’s safe to say there were only a few aspects that I was not too pleased with. The traction is not that great but that could be a personal issue and not indicative of the shoe’s overall quality.

The shoe is pretty tight around the mid-sole but I do have wide feet so this may not be an issue for everyone. Having said that, the tightness is not uncomfortable it’s just noticeable.

If you are looking for a basketball shoe that’s tight and feels secure then the Vol.2 could offer you all you’re looking for. It could give you the support you’re looking for without squashing your feet too much.

The Adidas Harden Vol. 2 is a good basketball shoe, there’s no doubt about it. You are getting a great quality shoe for your money. This might be a good choice for those who want to spend a bit more cash on a shoe that’s not going to fall apart in the next 6 months.

If you’re looking for a shoe that is very comfortable and offers a lot of support this could be the basketball shoe you need. Just make sure you try the shoes on before you part with your hard earned cash just in case you need a larger or smaller size.

Final Verdict

While there are a few disappointing aspects the Adidas Harden Vol. 2 is an excellent shoe. Although it is slightly heavier than the Vol. 1 it has exceptional cushioning and supportiveness.

If you need a basketball shoe that could help improve your game this could be the shoe for you. Admittedly, there are a few downsides to the Harden Vol. 2 but they are nothing too worrisome.

If you’re looking for a shoe that is responsive, comfortable and looks good, you need to consider buying the Harden Vol. 2. This is a shoe that doesn’t just look great it does more than many other shoes to help you feel supported and protected.

It’s been a pleasure writing an Adidas Harden vol 2 review as it’s an exceptional piece of footwear that won’t start wearing out the minute you put it on your foot. To sum it up, if you’re serious about your basketball shoes you seriously need to buy and wear the Harden Vol. 2.
